Top Smart Home Devices on My 2021 Wish List

Top Smart Home Devices on My 2021 Wish List

The smart home industry has been growing exponentially in the last decade. Estimates show that the industry will be worth approximately $141 billion by 2023. Today, there are over 42.2 million smart homes in the United States, and by 2021, 28% of all households will be smart homes.

I already joined the smart home bandwagon with two Arlo security cameras to monitor my home remotely right from my iPhone. I also have the Anova Precision Cooker Wi-Fi that works magic in my kitchen.

Of course, it’s quite obvious that to make full use of these smart devices, it’s important to have a comprehensive Internet package that also gives fast speeds.

The ability of smart devices to stay connected depends entirely on the strength and bandwidth of the wi-fi; before you think about installing smart devices for your home (or anywhere else for that matter), remember to browse cox internet plans and several others.

The more reliable your Internet connection, the more reliable your smart devices.

This year, I want to add a few more smart devices to my wish list.

Ecobee Smart Thermostat

I overheard a conversation about how smart thermostats can cut down energy bills. I did my research, and indeed, these smart devices save energy by self-adjusting to energy-saving temperatures.

There are several worthy smart thermostat brands, but the Ecobee Smart Thermostat is my best shot as it boasts the industry’s best annual energy cost savings, 23% to be precise. This translates into around $200 a year, which is almost the cost of the device. While my programmable thermostat works just fine, a smart thermostat is the way to go. So, when is it time for a new thermostat installation, you may want to consider the smart ones. They can save your electricity bills, have improved efficiency, and can be controlled from your laptops and smartphones.

Smart Lock System

While smart locks have been on the spot considering the susceptibility to hacking and glitches, it’s still something I want to own in 2021. Smart locks offer home and premise owners great convenience and airtight security.

Kwikset and Schlage are two of the best smart thermostat brands. So far, I’m in a dilemma between Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt and Kwikset Halo Wi-Fi Smart Lock, I also might consider FSB L700 Lightaccess Pro for a different option. These models could allow remote door locking and unlocking and may allow me to open the door for my dog walker when I’m not at home. No more hiding keys under flower vases!

Roomba S9+

I am a fan of dogs, but my two chihuahuas can be a mess at times – pet hair and kitty litter all over. While my canister vacuum does a great job handling all my floor cleaning needs, I don’t have much time to do the heavy lifting. Fortunately, we have robot vacuums that clean your floors automatically. Interestingly, they clean even when you are away.

Today, there are dozens of robot vacuum brands, but Roombas still rule. The Roomba S9+, in particular, caught my attention as it boasts all the bells and whistles and comes with the revolutionary automatic bin emptying system. For the record, the S9+ is a smart robot vacuum that works with a mobile app (Android and iOS) and voice assistants.

Philips Hue White A19 Starter Kit

When it comes to lighting, smart light bulbs are the best way to spice up the ambience. These bulbs offer a higher degree of control and interactivity than the traditional bulbs. After spending my holidays in an Airbnb with smart light bulbs, it’s the first thing I’m getting this year.

The Philips Hue White A19 Starter Kit is my best pick because it’s from a reputable brand. I’ve seen lots of bad reviews of these cheap smart bulbs, so I don’t want to risk my money. You can control the bulb using your voice, smartphone, or PC. With this smart bulb, I will enjoy the convenience and flexibility of setting different scenes, controlling lighting even when I’m not at home, syncing lighting with multimedia (music, movies, and games), etc.

Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller

I love my lawn so much, but then, the traditional sprinklers have failed me big time. I recently came across smart sprinklers, and I must admit that they are a must-have for any landscaping enthusiast. Furthermore, if these sprinklers suffer any damage, you know that you can count on professionals such as those who do sprinkler repair in Castle Rock or others of comparable caliber nearby you.

The Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller is the best smart sprinkler on the market. It leverages Weather Intelligence Plus and other technologies to deliver just the right amount of water to your plants. With Rachio, I’m looking forward to substantial water savings and a smooth remote watering experience.

That’s it, folks, a list of the best smart home devices on my wish list. Of course, I admire several other smart home devices, but the above are the ones that best fit my current needs. After having all the above devices installed, I’ll start saving up for a smart garage door opener, probably a LiftMaster.
